SOLVED Adding target self to a link - isotope

    • Hi guys,

      Im currently using the Isotope template and trying to sort out so that the chat button on the contact page opens a small window to a mylivechat session. It seems to work just fine however I have not yet been able to get this to open into a new smaller window. Instead it seems to take the current window to a new full screen chat session which is obviously not the way it should work.
      The particle doesnt seem to have an option for Link Target so I wondered if there was a way I could achieve this functionality?

      thanks as usual.

      Paula

    • Hi Paula,

      Without a link to page where the problem is on your site it is quite hard for us to provide the best solution due to so many variables. We try to provide file names and line numbers for code changes and if changes have already been made then our advice may be incorrect.

      Can you please post a link to the problem and we will do our best to assist you.

      Thanks :)

    • Hi David,

      My apologies. In hindsight I see how vague my description was. I was a bit addled at the time I posted it.

      My query is a broad query and the specifics are on my dev site however Ive made it live and it can now be seen at http://rustyice.co.uk/index.php/pages/contact

      I am trying to implement a popup chat window which activates upon the click of the "Ask Us" button on that page.

      The module I was using was My Live Chat and they provide a url based/non javascript mechanism to initiate the chat as follows:

      <a href=" mylivechat.com/chatnoscript.aspx?HCCID=68268000 " title="" target="_blank">Click to chat</a>

      however the problem with this is that it is only possible to place mylivechat.com/chatnoscript.aspx?HCCID=68268000 into the Button Link field of the particle. This is shown on the image below:

      On other occasions around the demo I have seen the extra facility of an additional box offering the ability to select the target too and I wondered if this is possible here without too much faff or even if theres a simpler way to achieve what Im trying to do.

      The chat window which opens is supposed to be a fairly small popup window which sits in front of the page.

      kindest regards,

      Paula

    • Hi Paula,

      Sorry, this one slipped through the net.

      I would probably approach this slightly differently. I would leave the link/button blank and add the link in the text by adding the following code...

      <p>
          <a href="https://mylivechat.com/chatnoscript.aspx?HCCID=99867072" class="button" data-rokbox="">Ask Us</a>
      </p>

      Notice I have added data-rokbox="", which will display your external URL in a rokbox popup window.

      If this resolves your problem then please edit your first post in this thread by adding [SOLVED] at the start of the title and click on the icon and select the 'tick' icon. This lets the moderators know that it can be moved to the solved section.

      Thanks for your cooperation :)

    • For some reason the edit button does not show up for me under my first post. Any idea why that is?
