Sure thing. I actually think it uses a different template for AMP, which makes a lot of sense. So in effect you have your normal page which is G5, and then your AMP page which is stripped down. The duplicates are marked as so with a <meta> information stating this AMP relates to this page and this page relates to this AMP so you are not penalised.
Effectively you're only allowed to have images, text, and no JS, which pretty much rules out a lot of G5 niceties.
