Regardless, I have read the link above and don't understand how to run edit in myphpadmin. I am a novice at myphpadmin and I can see no way to enter the suggested edit anywhere from within myphpadmin.
I did find "our database name" _template_styles and see where we are using ther rt_hadron template, but I still don't see how or where to enter the suggested UPDATE command.
That thread won't help you as it's related to our front-end template whereas your issue is Joomla's admin files.
There is a posting about this on the Joomla forum about this so I've posted the relevant starting link to help you find the resolution that might help you ->
https://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?t=937036#p3436307
I've just updated the information in that link - that should help you to resolve the issue now.
Regards, Mark.

Thank you both. In reading through I found this thread;
#22662 – Akeeba Strapper and update check plugin
then I uninstalled 'System - Akeeba Backup Update Check' vs 1 which dated back to 2011 and the problem seems to be gone.
I will check in a few hours and be sure the original error stays away.
