    SOLVED Error:

Posted 8 years 5 months ago
    • Any help on these errors?: Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /home1/koconnor/public_html/new_bedford/libraries/gantry/core/utilities/gantryregistry.class.php on line 326

Warning: Unexpected character in input: '\' (ASCII=92) state=1 in /home1/koconnor/public_html/new_bedford/libraries/gantry/core/utilities/gantryregistry.class.php on line 339

When I google them they come up everywhere on all kinds of sites.

      My Site INfo:

URL WHERE THE ERROR IS: www.bedfordprep.com/index.php/programs/sat-prep-at-flhs

Also none of the 'Save" functions are working on my site.

      Thanks!

    • 1. Your Halcyon template is out of date - so please update to latest version. Then clear server and browser cache.

      2. In global configuration set error level to "system default".

      3. If still no good, Please would you post your URL, superuser id and pswd in the secure tab of your post and i'll have a look for you.

      Regards, Mark.

    • I have updated the instance of Halcyon to the latest version and the error stll appears when error reporting is set to "Standard Defaults" . For now, I have error reporting currently set to "None" as the site is a production site. I have inclued super user access credentials in the secure part of this reply. Thanks!

    • oh... Joomla 2.5 and an absolutely prehistoric PHP version of 5.2.17 - eeek.

Sorry but we don't support Joomla 2.5 anymore and neither do Joomla.

I can only suggest that you leave error level set to "none" for now until you can update to Joomla 3.x

If you want to upgrade from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.x these are the steps to follow:

      1. backup backup backup!
      2. make sure that you meet the system requirements for J3.x (min php 5.3.10).
      3. check that al RT products are on latest versions (gantry, rt extensions and template) update any that aren't and clear server cache and browser cache. Check that RT template you are using is compatible with Joomla 3.x http://www.rockettheme.com/joomla-templates-compatibility-matrix . You can check all current version numbers in extension manager > manage. Please note if you are using "mission control" admin template that you need to uninstall this by following these special instructions http://www.rockettheme.com/forum/missioncontrol-joomla-admin-template/235181-important-information-about-uninstalling-mission-control .
      4. check all your third-party extensions are up to date and that they are compatible with J3.x
      5. test test test! to make sure anything you updated does still work ok
      6. backup backup backup!
      7. disable "system - remember me" plugin in extension manager > plugins
      8. update to J3.x and clear server and browser cache again.
      9. test test test!
      10. backup backup backup!
      11. re-enable "system - remember me" plugin.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Thanks Mark... Yeah, this is the one and only site that I manage that is somewhat outside my locus of control. It is not on my server so I will do as you suggest, leave error reporting set to 'None' and migrate the site from scratch to my own server, with all current versions etc. Thank you for you're help. Shall I mark this solved?

    • Yes, I've marked it solved for now - feel free to raise a new topic if you have any further issues on your own server once you have migrated everything.
