I've created a clone of the original 'base' and from this I've created a new 'default' page also.
The new default page inherits everything from the new base and everything works as expected (particle and atom wise).
However, when changing the colour of the header section of the base page, I would have expected the default page to inherit the colour change. Currently, it does not.
Should the style be inherited in this way or am I mistaken?
If it should in-fact be inherited, could someone please suggest what I may have missed to stop it from working?
It should inherit provided that you don't have an override for the color set in your outline.
Please would you post your URL, superuser id and pswd in the secure tab of your post and I'll have a look for you.

Just because you call an outline "BASE" dows not make it a base outline (even if you cloned the original base outline). You can only have one true base outline and this is called "BASE OUTLINE" - any color changes that you make in there will be inherited by all other outlines unless they specifically have an override to prevent that. There is no relationship between the "styles" tab in any other outlines (even if you are inheriting aspects of the layout on the layout tab).
So, the "BASE OUTLINE" styles tab is the place you should be making all your color changes that every other outline will then inherit. Where you want exceptions to that then you tick the box next to the field on the "styles" tab of other outlines and then change the value to what you want for that particular outline.

Hello Mark.
Yes it does clarify the issue.
I have always copied templates before starting work on a site (to protect the original) hence my misunderstanding.
Thank you for taking the time to respond so comprehensively.
