Do not try to go to fontawesome 5 - that will definitely not work.

I only have a working theory at the moment... Some of the other less files of fontawesome seem to be using some advanced features not available in the less compiler version included in Gantry 4. So... we're going to look into it further with a view to releasing a new Gantry 4 version that includes fontawesome 4.7 - butthis may take some time for our DEVS to get around to this.
