SOLVED Insert plugin inside Layout (with or without Particles)

  • SOLVED Insert plugin inside Layout (with or without Particles)

    • I am running Gantry5 in WP with the Interstellar Theme. I want to insert a WP plugin on my front page, but I cannot figure out how to do it. I may be missing something, but I don't see a particle where I can simple insert the shortcode for the plugin like [logo-slider].
I tried making a post and having that display on my front page (using the WordPress Posts particle), but I couldn't get the whole post to show, only a link to the post.
I am sure there is something obvious I am missing here, but I have wasted 2 hours trying to figure this out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • You can insert a widget either using a "widget position" particle or "widget instance" particle or a customhtml particle (where you can enter a shortcode), or you can put the shortcode in a post.

    • Hi Mark. Thank you for your help. I have already tried the CustomHTML particle, but all it does is just displays the shortcode. I know the shortcode works as I tried it in a post previously, so that isn't the issue.
As for your widget suggestion, do I need to install a widget for this particular plugin or is there one already in Gantry that would work for this?
      Thanks.

    • Please give me an example of what you are trying to place and where (url) - Please do a screenshot of your problem and annotate to make it clear.

Please would you post your URL, admin id and pswd in the secure tab of your post and I'll have a look for you.

      Regards, Mark.

    • Hi Mark,
I went back and re-looked at the Custom HTML since you recommended it and you have such a strong ranking on this forum (therefore your suggestion was probably correct). I found that it helps if I read the entire area in Custom HTML and click the "Process Shortcodes" check box. That solved the problem.
Thank you again for your help!
