    SOLVED Loading Bootstrap 4.6 without breaking other styles

    • Hi there,

      I'm wondering if there is a way to integrate Bootstrap 4.6 with Gantry / Joomla? It appears that I can load the Bootstrap Libraries (both CSS and JS) on the Template's Theme - Page Settings Tab. However when I do this, it appears to override the styles outlined by Gantry.

      Is this possible to achieve? Are the default theme CSS files uncompressed anywhere?

      Happy to provide more information if required.

    • No, it's not possible to achieve. Joomla 3.x use an old version of bootstrap 2.x - we have to use what joomla uses in our templates and Gantry. In the fortcoming Joomla 4, joomla have recently made the decision to implement Bootstrap 5.x (and this delays the release of Joomla 4 yet again). However, Gantry 4 will not be compatible with Joomla 4. If you want to use a modern version of Bootstrap then you will need to wati for Joomla 4 and use Gantry 5 framework.

    • That's interesting and a questionable decision as correct me if I'm wrong, Bootstrap 5 is nowhere near finished?

      Thanks for the information, I'll have to work out another way using Gantry to achieve a specific layout I was going for.
