The logo will scale (down) to fit the container in which it resides - so allocate more space on the layout if you need a bigger logo.
The logo can be an image (e.g. an jpg, png, etc), OR and SVG image (scalable vector graphic code exporte from something like adobe illustrator), or Text. So, if you are not familiar with SVG then just use an Image instead. Remember to make that image only as large as it could ever be displayed on your site (and counterintuitively it could actually be bigger on mobile).
