Would it be an idea to implement a way of creating the browserconfig.xml by Gantry?
One just has to upload the image for favicon and G! generates these images

I doubt that will be implemented - but the corrrect place to ask would be on the Gantry 5 opensource project (raise an issue).
1. Use a favicon.ico file (which would contain all the sizes in one file).
2. Use the existing fields on the "page settings" of the base outline.
