      I have a similar problem. I have 3 positions 3|6|3
      sidebarA - mainbody - sidebarB
This means that sidebarA should be ALWAYS to the left, but when there are no published modules in sidebarB, sidebarA will go to the right of the mainbody.
I don't think this is suposed to happen.
      hi again,

if you have 3 positions used and the slider shows sa-mb-sb, then sidebar-a will be on the left as desired.

when you then have a page without a sidebar-b, then it is no longer a 3 position layout but a 2 position layout. so you will have to use the slider for 2 positions to decide on which side the sidebar-a will appear.

      hope this helps, kat :)

    • Thanks Kat
I wanted sidebar A always on the left and the posibility of having sidebar B to the right in some few pages.

What i did to solve my problem was to edit lib\gantri\gantry.config.php
Around line 139 i rt-push and rt-pull and achieved the desired behavior
      'sa3-mb9' => array ('rt-push-3','rt-pull-9'),

Also i noticed that newer gantry versions have the ability to set parameters per menu items which probably would have fixed if it is possible to set different layouts for pages with 2 or 3 positions accordingly.

    • I've got a similar question in the latest Gantry on the August 2010 template. Mainbody always appears on the left. What I would like to have it do is have SidebarA, then Mainbody to the right of that, how do I move Mainbody to be on the right?

    • hi chad,

you can use the layout sliders in the template parameters > layouts...

to see how this works, make sure to check the documentation on our gantry framework site.
      www.gantry-framework.org/documentation/joomla/configure/layouts

best to check the video tutorial to fully understand how to use those sliders.

      hope this helps, kat :)

    • Did anyone find the solution to adjusting the main body width? I've looked at the Gantry tutorial and documentation and they don't appear to be doing anything any different from what I'm doing by using the sliders in the template manager but for some reason my main body and side bar are not responding not matter where slider position I place it in (using both default and per-menu-item). I'm wondering if I'm missing something. Thanks

    • hi jeff,

i am not seeing a gap between the mainbody and the sidebar, i am using ff at the moment.
are you seeing this in a different browser? maybe you could attach a screenshot to show us what you see? for me it seems to display correctly as set in the template manager.

Thanks for the reply and follow up.

      Mark this one as SOLVED.

      In Template Manager > ~gantry template~
Click on "Menu Items" button (orange header, to the right of the "Defaults" button)
      Select the menu item
Modify the "mainbody positions" in the layout area
      "Apply" or "Save"

I thought the defaults would apply and be inherited to all the menu & sub-menu items - it seems they must be explicitly selected.
