Home vs Default, I am trying to do this, help!

Posted 7 years 8 months ago
    • I would like to have a home page that has the username/password login button in the showcase section and a button/link for registration in the features section for example. When logged in or when a user clicks on registration it would take you to the default page

For the life of me I can't figure out what I should make default, what custom gantry 5 menu item I should use in the menus.

      I would like to know

      1. What should be set as default for this setup, Home or Default?
      2. What menu items should I create and where should I use the custom gantry 5 menu item?
      3. How would the login module be setup, I assume it would be in module position in showcase, but then once logged in it should take the user to a profile menu within the default. The default would also need a logout button/menu item.

With registration I would like the button/menu to take them to a registration page and once registered to the default page with their profile menu. I have seen plenty of inhereance of the logo etc. but not much with regards to menu configurations between Home and Default.

So I thought I would ask the question here, using the default Joomla login/logout and registration

    • I'm not sure where Mark was headed on this and he's out of town for a while... but we cannot setup your Theme for you... if you're new to Gantry 5 please read the first 3 chapters here: docs.gantry.org

Registration is a Joomla component/function... it is not controlled by the Theme... you'll need to consult Joomla's docs/forums for assistance on that.

I'm not see the "userna me" cutoff as you've described... if you can take a screen shot of that and provide a direct link to where it appears on the frontend I'll investigate
