Added new module positions now need to add styles for the positions

  • Added new module positions now need to add styles for the positions

Posted 7 years 10 months ago
    • I was able to add a new row of modules positions for my template (rt-audacity). They showed up beautifully but I need to add some styling for them. Under the template/styles and then styles tab of the template there are dropdowns for selecting "text color" and "background color" for each module row. But my new module row does not show up. How can I add style dropdown for the new module row positions that I created?

      TIA

    • I really wouldn't start trying to configure template manager as well for your new positions as it will all get overwritten by template updates (as will your existing changes to the index.php of the template). Just use custom CSS to style those positions instead.

    • What would be the best way to minimize the work when a template update does come out? Backup index.php and then overwrite after update? or ?

Thanks for the previous reply Mark. Makes sense.

    • You have to change index.php to add new postions - there is no choice. So you will have to keep a backup of your changes to that and then when you do a template update reapply those changes. But after that that is why I am saying to go no further with chaning the templates.xml etc etc as it just creates work for yourself... just use custom CSS (which is not overwritten with template updates).
