Setup phpbb like RT

I am using the Solar Sentinel style and I would like to set up PHPBB3 to behave much like it does on RT.
In other words, I would like to have the board index show the most recent post per forum AND have it linked to said post (in addition to the date and username of the post).
How is that done?

That layout is a typical phpbb3 prosilver layout.

Anyone?
The vast majority of boards that I visit (not just phpbb ones) use this sort of layout where the linked latest post is the one shown per forum.
I thought I might find it in a RT FAQ, but no luck.

When you go to the Board Index for my installation, you will indeed find a last post link. But the link is the username. If you click it, you fo to the username's profile.
I would much rather is show the linked SUBJECT. And go to that subject when clicking it. Just like these RT forums.

you need to know what your theme is based against
in my case paradox was based on prosilver...etc
tips:
automod makes things easier..
not all files are in the theme folder, some are in prosilver folder
