    • Suckerfish for me ;D

I know you like Transmenu Chris but, after playing around with it, I don't really see what it achieves apart from the oft quoted 'it looks nice'. Maybe it does but, from what I can see, it's not overly user, or standards, friendly (especially as it's purely javascript dependent) or as slick as the Suckerfish which, in the end, does the same job?

    • Ah I like this.
      I see your point.
I have to say I like suckerfish its nice.
      Here is my order
1.Transmenu nothing special but it looks nice right
      2. Slidermenu I love those mootools very elegant but you can't use it with everything.
      3. Suckerfish good old suckerfish you can use it with everything its the old Mr.Reliable when in doubt go with suckerfish for sure.
      4. Button menu its really awesome for portals specialy for movie, games or music sites the possiblites are endless.
      5. splitmenu ah I think its nice but I would choose the others after it no offence its nothing special and nothing I haven't seen before.

    • I loathe Transmenu.

I have a project that seems like it will never end, and I had to use Transmenu to get the look that my client wanted, and that their original graphic designer had specified, and although it looks pretty, a very large amount of the functionality of Joomla! had to be compromised in order to get the look. I'm using SWmenu Pro, and Sean White gives really good support for his product, but, that being said, even if he were to offer the pro version free to RocketTheme, I still would urge Andy not to make it part of any templates. Anyone who has ever spent hours redoing their tweaked divs just to get Transmenu working will know what I mean. :D

I like Suckerfish. It works, it does 99% of what any menu really ever needs to do.

However, for projects where I have the say so, I am trying to try to get away from drop down menus altogether. I think that drop down menus are a symptom of poor organization for most sites, and they confuse a certain percentage of surfers who are not comfortable with rapidly cruising through drop downs to find what they are looking for.

Perfection usually means giving someone a handful of clearly laid out navigational choices on any one top level page.

Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

      I like your opinion
Seriously you are the smartest person here.
      Everything you said made sense
So overall suckerfish is the most supported and functional.
      Thanks man
