    • While we are looking at trimming the fat......

I noticed on my Vortex site that all my button images load. I'm not using the button menu. So would combining the css "trim the fat"?

I have not actually used Vortex, but I assume that the buttons are loaded in the .css as style elements? Regardless, simply combining them would not eliminate this.

You need to find where they are actually being loaded, and cut them out.

As a general rule, though, if the elements are specified in css, but those elements are not used, the graphics are not loaded.

Ah, that's good to know! I was worried when I looked at the websiteoptimization.com's result which listed all the elements in the css. Thanks for clearing that up.
