Local Host Question

    • Hi everyone,

I'm new to using Joomla, so far I'm really enjoying it and learning all of the tricks. Right now I am working on my company's website, using the Somaxiom theme as a template. I'm building the site on my computer first, running a Wamp server.

The reason for my post is, and I apologize for the newb question, if I go to the http://localhost using IE8, the layout is messed up. Modules are not in the correct position, fonts are the wrong size, the Fusion menu does not function correctly, and some of the modules don't even load at all. If I turn on IE8's "Compatibility Mode" it makes things even worse. However, if I use Firefox or Chrome, everything looks and works perfect.

Another thing is, if I visit Rocket Theme's demo page for Somaxiom using IE8, everything works perfectly. This leads me to believe maybe there's an issue with Wamp and IE8. I've never used Wamp before so this is all new to me.

If anyone has any insight regarding Joomla and Wamp 2.0 use with IE8 I'm all ears.
