Assigning Templates in Wordpress

I have a general question about WordPress, actually a couple. I'm considering joining the WP template club.
Is there a feature on the WP backend (as in Joomla) which allows you to assign templates to different pages?
Also, if I wanted a particular template for WP, which isn't listed in your WP gallery, is it possible to get that done and what would it cost it me to hire an RT developer to do it for me?
