Using Gantry Framework with an older (non-gantry) template?

Posted 14 years 9 months ago
    • Please forgive me if this has been discussed before...

I was just curious if it was possible to:

      1. Use and older (non-gantry) template in conjunction with the Gantry Framework.
      2. If it is possible, what is the best installation method?

    • The older templates and the new ones with the Gantry framework are 'apples and oranges'.

If it's not Gantry based, it won't work or fit with the Gantry.

Some of the most popular templates have been revisited or reborn in Gantry, e.g., Chromataphore 04-08 became Crystalline in 03-10 (the color chooser everyone loved with all the Gantry framework upgrades)

If there is an older template in particular template you would like to see Gantry based, you may consider posting here.

    • Hey Matt,

One thing that can be done if you want a certain look and feel with the functions of gantry is use the Gantry template that comes closest to the older one, then just edit the gantry one, and move over the graphics from the older one.

For example, I'm currently working on moving most of the graphics from Infuse to Quantive.

      Cheers,

      Rich
