Rockettheme to get into the eCommerce business!

    • Rockettheme is the premiere Joomla template developer and now does drupal, wordpress, phpbb3 templates.

But I am a designer, not a coder. But by buying into "developer status" at Rockettheme.com, you have allowed an "artist type" like me to succeed at web design via manipluting your templates to my custom esthetic specs. And I love you for it. :-) - antishrillwebdesign.com

I know you did one virtuemart theme a while back, and I have used it over and over. Since many of my clients desire to "sell on-line".

I actually hate doing ecommerce because with virtuemart there is really very little support and if something goes wrong I have to go searching for hours and hours in forums or pay someone to fix it. For the non-coder/designer it is a fearful experience.

      Here is the point...

I think there is a lot of money in developing templates (to match your joomla templates) for corecommerce.com.

Core commerce is really one of the most effective, affordable and seemingly open source 3rd party cart systems. It appears that they offer all the tools necessary to duplicate a rockettheme template under their platform.

Here is why you would want to do so...

They charge anywhere from $2,000 to $4,000 per custom design. And their designs are no better (and often worse) than what you could do.

      1. It could be a new membership level to get access. I would buy in!!

      2. You could force people to click your core-commerce affiliate link to get access to your custom rockettheme template versions = passive residual income!!!

      3. It offers people a true full featured ecommerce solution with 24/7 support.

      4. SOMEONE TO CALL IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG!! This is what virtuemart cannot do! Not to mention all the options that come from corecommerce that are too many to list here.

Everyone thinks they want to sell on line, and I often try to convince people that they should do an informational side (using Joomla) and a ecommerce side (using a subdomain like store.maindomain.com using corecommerce). But it would be beyond awesome to have the corecommerce side look like the joomla side in a seemless fashion!!

      Bottom line...

Think about it, please. (No I don't work for corecommerce :-) )

I have a feeling that it would not be that hard for you - after already putting the effort out to create the css and design for each new template. I would pay for a new membership level to get access (I have NOT paid for access to the drupal, wordpress, phpbb3 stuff - boring :-) )

I think this new ecommerce membership level of rockettheme could explode like none of the others have!!

You could create passive residual income from an affiliate relationship with corecommerce!!! Huge!!

And we would not be tied to virtuemart in a vast sea of endless forums if we wanted to do ecommerce.

Adding a solid, full featured, ecommerce solution to the rockettheme world is the future. (No, Tienda is not the answer)

Think about it, please. Thanks for everything!!

P.S. If Rockettheme is not interested. Maybe a few of you forum support stars will be :-) Can't blame a guy for trying.
