  • how to show registration form only?

    • Hi all!
I really need help, i can't find the solution anywhere.
I'm working on a website for our gym and i want a BIG > register now! < button on the home page.
This need to link to the registerform, NOT the login module with a link to the registerform.
      Is this possible?
Can someone please explain how? Prefferably i need explanation how to put it in a new article or module so i can change layout/modules to show as i want to.

I allso dont understand why the registrationform is appearing in anotherpage then the loginmodule?

I have the loginmodule on a single article page here: http://www.teamdejager.nl/Joomla_RT_Kinetic_j15/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=115&Itemid=53

When you click on "register" you go here: http://www.teamdejager.nl/Joomla_RT_Kinetic_j15/index.php?option=com_user&view=register ??? I need the registration form to show on the same page.

Why is it on this page, and why does it appear in this specific module position????
I seems so obvious to work that way to me but i can find anything that solves my question as simple as it is.

      Any help is much appreciated!

      PHP Version: 5.2.14
      Joomla! Version: Joomla! 1.5.20 Stable

    • Hi,
I need the registration form to show on the same page

I see the registration form on that page. It seems to be working as it should. You click register on the login form and it takes you to a register page.

If you are worried about the other modules appearing on your page you can turn them off via the "Menu Less Pages" setting in your Template Admin Parameters.

That is exaclty what i mean. Can you help please?!
Its like a "registration.html page". No login. Only registration/and prefferably confirmation page..
      As simpple as that.
      Do you know how?

    • Ahh, ok now some progress! :D

I don't know how to do this myself but it may be possible to purchase a Form component which can register new users and then use a module to embed the form you create.

I recommend you check out the different form components making sure the embed feature is included. A simple email request to the form's designers will confirm this.

If that all seams a little long winded, alternatively, now we know exactly what it is you need, there may be someone else here who can direct you to the relevant souce.

    • @RedRum
I have looked at someform components already but want to be sure first that joomla doenst have what i need.

      @RedRum/Rich

Is there a way to put the registerform at a specific page at all? Maybe it sounds like the same question but if we can rule out this possibility, then i better look for a form component 8)

My main issue at this registerform here:
      http://www.teamdejager.nl/Joomla_RT_Kinetic_j15/index.php?option=com_user&view=register
It shows the registerform on the frontpage. Its way to low, if people dont scroll they maybe dont see it.
So then i have to turn off modules/change layout of the frontpage only for this registerform to show on top.

Then I have a messed up frontpage

Maybe you know a way to solve this? Then I would not need the registerform on a separate page/article.

      Thanks in advance!!

    • Hi Alexander,

Yes, quite easily. Normally you set up all pages then home last, and make that the over rides. In the future that will take care of this. But since you already have that set up...here's what you can do.

      1. Make a new menu, call it hidden or whatever you want. Doesn't matter because it's never going to show.

      2. Create a registration link in that menu. The type is User / Default Registration

      3. Do your layout overrides and module assignments for that menu item.

That's it. I did a demonstration of it here: www.engageyourdivers.com/registrationmain

Is this what you're looking to do?

      Cheers,

      Rich

    • And hey to answer your questions:
Why is it on this page, and why does it appear in this specific module position????
I seems so obvious to work that way to me but i can find anything that solves my question as simple as it is.

It appears on that page because it's a component, not a module. Since it is currently a "menu-less" page all the other modules are showing up probably because you have your menu-less pages set up as "home" in your gantry settings.

      Hope that explains it.

You could also set your menu-less pages in gantry to something where your rockstories and other modules aren't activated. That would solve your problem as well.

Also, you could add a menu item to your main menu for registration and link to user / main reg form and do module assignments there as well.

      Cheers,

      Rich
