    Creating a backup on localhost

Posted 14 years 7 months ago
    • I've searched the forum (and through Google) but can't really find an answer for my problem.

I created a backup with akeeba, after installing it I get a php_curl error (rok_twittie): After a search on this forum I thought I found the answer by removing the semicolon in the php.ini file. Well, it doesn't work. First of all I get a stripped down version of the Iridium template, the menu doesn't work and I can't do (click on) anything in the back-end.

Does anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

      PS, I use(d) wamp.

    • Try using the Akeeba backup with different configuration settings. You can do one backup with all the files and another backup that is the database sql file. Then on your live site, you can import the sql into the new database and then upload the files to the right new hosting directory. Then just change the configuration file to match the new hosting environment and database name and password.

Did you reboot the server (and computer)?

BTW, most of us Windows users use XAMMP...

    • @ Ben Lee, Thanks! That did the trick. Can't believe I didn't figure that out myself...
@ Jem, I've tried both but find wamp a little bit more intuitive. But to answer your question, yes, I did reboot both. That's when it messed up my template.
