    Mailto issue with joomla

    Posted 14 years 7 months ago
    • Hmm how do i go about having a mailto: href with body text in joomla?
      i tried:
      <a href="mailto:test@test.com?body=The message's first paragraph.%0A%0aSecond paragraph.%0A%0AThird Paragraph.">TEST</a>
      And when i open it up in outlook i get
      TO: <script language='JavaScript' type='text/javascript'> <!-- var prefix = 'mailto:'; var suffix = ''; var attribs = ''; var path = 'hr' + 'ef' + '='; var addy23219 = 'astark1' + '@'; addy23219 = addy23219 + 'unl' + '.' + 'edu'; document.write( '<a ' + path + '\'' + prefix + addy23219 + suffix + '\'' + attribs + '>' ); document.write( addy23219 ); document.write( '<\/a>' ); //--> </script><script language='JavaScript' type='text/javascript'> <!-- document.write( '<span style=\'display: none; \'>' ); //--> </script>This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it <script language='JavaScript' type='text/javascript'> <!-- document.write( '</' ); document.write( 'span>' ); //--> </script>

      And the body is ok.

      I understand joomla uses the javascript to hide the email address and rebuilds the email address.
      But it doesnt work if you have body text :cry:

      Any fixes?

    • Ahh just realised the email cloaking is a plugin, this site is an intranet so ive disabled the plugin.
      Sorted now :)
