Gantry & per menu configuration

This is my problem with per menu configuration in Gantry:
If i set a menu item like a component or something else in internal link, per menu selection works fine, When i use a menu item as external url, but pointing always inside my site, per menu selection seems don't change default parameters.

An external link cannot have added page styling because it's not set to necessarily be located within your site.
If you have the menu item already set somewhere as an "article layout" or whatever, then your changes should be made to that item.
If there is no menu link directly to the item, the "non-menu" linked page layout will be used.

I solved in this way:
for example
instead using in url
www.xxxxxx.com/index.php?option=com_comm...tPersonal&Itemid=346
i used
index.php?option=com_community&view=agora&task=editPersonal&Itemid=346
Now it works fine
