Rocket Launcher Installer Error

    • I'm not sure where to post this since it appears to affect multiple Rocket Launcher packages (perhaps all of them?), so I'll post it here:

When going through a Rocket Launcher installation, during the initial system check, the installer reports that "configuration.php" is present and writable, even if it really isn't. When I install Joomla, I always create this file out of habit. But this time, I accidentally mis-typed the command to change its ownership to the proper user (it was created as root:root ownership). So every time I tried to install a Rocket Launcher package, it gave me an unspecified error and threw me back to the beginning of the installation. And each time, the system check reported that "configuration.php" was present and writable. It wasn't until the 4th failure that I checked my file permissions and found my error.

The standard Joomla installer does not behave this way. If configuration.php is not present or is not writable, it states so in the system check during installation. Only Rocket Launcher packages seem to perform this check incorrectly. With the standard Joomla installer, if configuration.php is not present or writable, then the installer gives the proper contents of that file at the end of the installation routine for the user to manually copy into configuration.php. Apparently the Rocket Launcher package never does this since it never thinks that file is missing.

    • oops, looks like this is a Joomla 1.5.21 bug and not a Rocket Launcher error. My bad!
