    JomSocial?

    • Hey guys and gals, I was wondering how JomSocial and a RocketTheme template w/ Gantry works? Do i just simply install the rocketlauncher for any RT template and then install JomSocial? Or do only certain RT templates work with JomSocial? Iv built a social network site using community builder but its kinda limiting my ability to take the site to the next level. Iv asked this question over at JomSocial and they said to post here.

    • I have built three sites using RT and Joomsocial. I have had no problem with the templates and Jomsocial rocks :) I have installed them on Zephyr and Dominion without problems.

    • Could you explain a little how JomSocial integrates with an RT template? From what iv seen over at JomSocial is that it's a fully functional standalone website, so im wondering how you would use the functions of JomSocial but the template and gantry backend of RocketTheme?

      Hi :)

      The Jomsocial demo website has been set up to show all features, you can use modules to show for example the latest groups, video and pictures etc.

      The RT template will hold Jomsocial and then you will need to edit the css based on which template you are using to match the jomsocial look to your website.

    • The RT wraps around the Jomsocial. You have your web site, and then you have the Jomsocial part of it (unless that's all you want on your web site).

      With Jomsocial, you still have the base Joomla and its just a component of it (a very nice one at that). So the RT is no different than any other web site. Sure, there is some customization needed for the Jomsocial CSS files if you want a perfect match, or you can browse around for some template files that will closely match the chosen RT style. If you want, I can give you a few links to Jomsocial RT sites I have done in a PM.
