Sorry for reposting, but it seems like it's not template related and I didn't get any response.
I feel pretty stupid right now, as this has never been an issue for me. In the articles i get the navigation Previous/Next at the bottom, even with the navigation set to hide in both global parameters in Articles and item navigation set to hide in the menu options. The issue can be seen here:

This time I just can't seem to make them disappear.
This content is merged from a J1.0 installation. As far as I can recall, article navigation could be set visible in the articles themselves back then, Could this be a problem?
Either I have to give the navigation a black or transparent background (I've changed this now), or they have to go. My template is Somaxiom, as you may see.
