  • k2 - what is the purpose for it?

    • Never used K2 Before and after looking at there website - I really don't know why I want to use it .

      I know my template accepts it.. but what is the PROS to use it.

    • Hey, i setup K2 on http://blog.bramblebusiness.com you may care to take a look

      It has some advantages such as separate styling, more blog like features, 5 or so added blog modules, and a nicely automated image and video formatting.

      It keeps things separate from your articles which is a hindrance in my opinion because the search modules dont see its content. Another advantage is its custom fields that you can add on automatically onto each article you write.
      The built in comments tool is very spam efficient.


      negative points, its not as flexible as you may want it to be
      i find some of its functions dont work, but i do need to upgrade to latest version yet

    • I think every site i make in joomla now has K2 on it.
      its just a very advanced version of the articles section.
      If your allowing several users to add items then this is a must as it allows them to create articles easily via the front-end and you can lock them down to a specific section etc...
      the more you look into K2 the more you will realise its features!
