Can some more experienced rockettheme member describe the way they use Rockettlauncher to build up sites? Or let me rephrase that for you to better understand me.
When you are developing a new site, do you use RocketLauncher?, or do you use a simple joomla instalation + theme. I'm asking this, because it seems to me, the Rockettlauncher is a bit slower than a Joomla+theme installation (maybe because a simple installation leaves joomla lighter?)
Ok, you big developers here. What's the workflow you are using? Are you using Rocketlauncher for a new developed site, or joomla+coresponding theme? Please describe a little your process, it seems very important to me.
To summarize:
1. When and how do you use Rockettlauncher package?
2. When do you use joomla installation + theme (same as previous rockettlauncher pack theme)
and a non related question
3. Can I expect a Zephyr WP template soon? I was thinking using a joomla-wp combo, and that would really help.
I'll try to help...
When one has an established Joomla-install with tons of content but just wants to simply add a theme, a regular template install would be best.
If one is setting up a new site from scratch or a new client-site, going with a Rocket-Launcher can save you some time. The demo content will be setup and running after the RL install. Then, the only thing needed would be to customize the content for the new clients needs.
In the south, we have a saying...."It's better to kill two birds with one stone!"
The rocket-launcher versions allow one to do just that! By the time one uploads and installs a RL package, You'll have a full running copy of Joomla, the Template, Plug-ins, Modules, Extensions, etc.
If you have an Existing site that want to keep the content intact, just upload the Template-only version, install it along with all the ancillary items.... Then you'll be set!

Well yes! If it is an entirely NEW site that contains it's own content independent from anything existing.
Maybe I can explain it this way: Option 1 I have an existing site and I just want a "new look" for it. It already has content and I want the content to remain the same: Use a template only install. Option 2 I am starting "A brand-New" site (from scratch) and want the convenience of installing Joomla and the Template in one easy step: Use the /rocket Launcher.
I hope this helps!

That would be a personal preference for you. You could do it either way. The "dummy - content" is there mostly to setup the menu-structure for the RL package.
Option -1- Just go into each published article and change it to your needs. Option -2- Delete all dummy content and create your own content from-scratch.
It's hard to tell which direction would be less work... BUT either method will get you to the same destination.
My personal method is NOT to re-edit the existing "dummy-content." I always like to start with a "clean-install." Just my personal preference.
If you are unfamiliar with keeping your content organized or if you haven't laid-out your site structure on paper, I would probably recommend going with the Rocket-Launcher version and just re-edit what is there. Before starting a new site, I design the site on paper using a flow chart or something similar.
Structured effort and planning will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I hope some of this helps! Wage

For me, a copy of the RL on localhost or a subfolder for reference, and for the actual site, (for the newer templates) a copy of the latest Gantry RL with no sample data, then apply the template and extensions.
