the latest Paradox lets you choose between
Background Level: High, Medium or Low
Body Level: High or Low.
you can build very simple and elegant sites with it. But its an old discussion:
if the devs build simple designs some will say: Awww that is too simple for me!
if they build advanced styles some will say: Awww that's to crazy for me!
I think the opportunity to choose background/body level is a good answer here.
When I look at "our" competitors you will notice that some only build a light/dark style or just have variations in colors and backgrounds but not "level" ... not so bad what the rt-team offers imho ...

Nearly every template has an option of turning-down the graphics to a more simplistic version. Also, every template also comes with the source graphics for customizing to an individual's taste.
If I understand your question correctly, you are asking about a more clean, stripped-down, business, or simplistic template... Please keep in mind, that the templates on the demo site are displayed using the most-attractive version.... but every one can be simplified with minimum effort. The main thing that RT templates try to display on the demo site is the "functionality" built into each specific template (which the TEAM does an outstanding job).

Although I don't like every template and/or styling option, I'm continually impressed by the templates that RT produces. The versatility and functionality is remarkable and keeps getting better. With a little tweaking around, they are easily transformed into whatever look you or I desire.
