Load article with no frontpage modules and no menu item?

  • Load article with no frontpage modules and no menu item?

    • I have an article that I want to display that has no menu item assigned to it. It's effectively a hidden page within the site that can only be accessed if you know the url.

I don't want to assign a menu item to it (as it's hidden) but if I don't assign a menu item and make that menu item active then the page loads and shows all the frontpage modules etc which I don't want to show.

How would I go about doing this?

      Chris

    • Hi Chris,

You don't mention which template you are using.

If you have another page that has the layout you need then you can use the menu-less option in the later templates to select that page. This means that any pages that have no menu item will adopt the layout of the menu item you chose.

      Hope this helps 8)

    • It's the Quantive template in this instance but it would apply to any template I guess.

      What do you mean? :)

    • Hi Chris,

When I try to hide things I create a new menu called hiddenmenu and title it Hidden Menu. Then I add the item I want to hide. This allows me to assign modules to it or not as the case may be.

Finally I make sure the Hidden Menu module is published to a position that does not exist. This is done by overtyping whatever is in the position dropdown with a position called hiddenmenu.

      Hope this helps 8)
