License of the template and graphics

    • Hello there,

I have a quick question and was wondering whether a member of the team would be able to answer it for me. I've purchased a RocketTheme subscription for Joomla! templates. I've downloaded the template I like most, and it is running on my website. I have read RocketTheme's propriety use license, but there is still one thing I'd like to confirm.

Am I allowed to use the image that is used as the background image of my template on my website's page on Facebook? Maybe that sounds a little confusing ... In other words, I'd like to use the background image that came with my template in my profile picture on Facebook. I'd be using the profile picture on my website's Facebook Fan page, so it would be directly linked to my website and I of course, would certainly not be claiming it as my own. Is this allowed?

      Thanks for your time,
      teacherandu

What you are describing sounds within reason. That is to say, as I read what you have typed, it does not appear as though what you have described here would constitute a violation of the propriety use license, copyright or TOS.

    • Thanks, cdavis411.

I have one more inquiry. Would I be allowed to use the background image of my RT template in an image advertisement? I'm going to start using Google Ads, so I'm designing an advert for my site. Again, of course the ad would relate directly to my site, and would not be used to promote anything else. I just think that having the background image for the ad the same as the background image for the website would be quite cool, and attracts members, seeing as the background image is so awesome.

      Thanks

    • From what I've read, I don't thinks that's allowed, but you should contact support directly as the moderators deal with template, not legal issues.

    • It's just that in the proprietary license it says: "These images, cascading style sheets and JavaScript elements are copyright RocketTheme and can be used and manipulated for your own or your clients purposes."

But I suppose I'd better use the form. Thanks JEM

    • Yes, for a website, but not for other applications such as newspaper advertisements, fliers, business cards, etc.

Just contact support directly, they will clarify.
    • Thanks,
