It shows a prioritized list with an update at the bottom of the page...Update 01/13/2011
1. Gantry core framework (90% complete)
2. Gantry core template (90% complete)
3. "Key" extensions that the majority of our templates make use of (75% complete)
4. Conversion of Gantry-based templates working backwards from most recent to oldest (requires #1, #2, and #3)
5. Conversion of older pre-Gantry based templates (requires #3)
Thanks for the update, by the way.
My question is...
When can we expect the first 1.6 template to be released? February? March?

There is no date set, instead, they'll be released 'when they are ready'.
No sense is setting a date for release and releasing something on a specific date with issues that still have to be addressed as opposed to when something is ready.
And, when it comes to coding, the last 10% can actually be 90% of the job...
Anyway, in this case (exactly the same as the release and changeover from J1.0 > J1.5) just keep an eye on the announcements, Andy said RT will be very vocal about the template and extension releases.
You also have remember that even if RT templates and extensions are J1.6 compatible, whatever 3rd party components you use will have to be as well. - Thanks,
