Drupal 7 vs Joomla 1.6 when it comes to scale-ability

I've been a Joomla web developer for a few years and a RT for a couple. I created a Drupal 7 site and played with it a bit. I am developing a new business that might scale to a million users over a few years and would like some insight on the scale-ability of these two CMSs when it comes to user management please.
Just a note about my project. A lot of the content (video and analytics) will be pulled to the site via an API. I mainly need my CMS to be a user workhorse that will get a lot of traffic.
