  • How to add a message feature?

    • I would like to know if there is a component that allows admin to send personal message such as notification or reminder to a user's account. It seems to be a better way comparing to emailing since you have no control over the spam filter or user missing the message.

      One good example is RocketTheme has a "Messages" note under "Info/Login" menu item so it will show "1 unread" message next to it when the admin or system have any reminder.

    • Here at RT Joomla is used as the CMS, and phpBB3 is used for the forum.

      phpBB3 is why you see messages as you do, it's not part of Joomla...

      (But the two are linked together with RokBridge.)

      I don't know of a strictly Joomla based solution for this but I'm sure you might be able find one on the JED on joomla.org.

    • JomSocial (commercial), Anahita (commercial), phpBB3 (free), Kunena (free), Community Builder (free), Ninja Board (free), all might be worth looking into for sending personal messages to your site's members.
