Styling the tabs of tabs & sliders?

I noticed in the templates that you have tabs & sliders worked into, that you also setup some css styling for them. Could anyone explain what you need to do to setup custom styling for the tabs?

backup up the css file and then experiment to your hearts content. - Say no to Internet Explorer 6.
