I purchased the gazette template and used an FTP utility to upload it to my host. I selected it from the Template Manager -- Site option in the control panel in Joomla. I assigned it and made it the default. I see the green check marks. Yet the template doesn't show up on my site though. What am I doing wrong? I had a guy on the phone over at my host and he said to redo it all as I maybe had a bad file and there was a scripting error. I redid it all and still can't get the template to work. Can anyone help me? Thanks a lot. (I really wish RocketTheme had a phone number and tech support.) Thanks.
RT does not provide official support for the templates, as you would have read upon signing up. However, you do get access to this forum, where most of your ills can be cured. With James S around, it's only a matter of time before your site is up and running.
In any case, please help us help you by providing a link to your site.
I think I'm almost where I need to be. But I was told by a guy at my Web hosting company that once I had the template selected that it would automatically become or take over as the home page or /index. So how do I make it so that my site's home page (with the template showing) is .com. Currently I have to go to .php to see the template. I hope this is clear. Sorry, but I'm still a little confused.
I know that you have the issue solved, but I just have to ask if you've tried installing templates in the Admin backend?
[Admin backend/ Installers/ Templates - Site]
Cheers!
