    • What exactly are your questions, which theme, which platform?

You could post them here or if you need assistance that is beyond the scope of the forum, you could send an inquiry here:

    • Hi Jem,

      My questions are as follows

On Joomla 1.5 for the Entropy Theme
      www.rockettheme.com/joomla-templates/entropy

1.) The site I would potentially like to use this theme for would like to have some main pages that work like this, but others that go to a regular page format. I see on the Home tab on the demo page that you can do this, but how does it work? How do you select which pages go to normal joomla page and which goes to the scroll method?

2.) Does ChronoForms work on this template well? The site we are considering redesigning this on is form intensive and uses ChronoForms. Could we have, for example the Guest Speakers page, but embed the ChronoForm into the page?
      demo.rockettheme.com/apr11/index.php#rt-feature-panel
The actual application would be that leading up to the conference there would not be any of this years' speakers listed. But, the client would like to list last years speakers' but have the potential speakers submission form embedded right into this area so that a potential speaker for this years' conference does not have to "click here to fill out the speaker submission form'. I hope that I have made clear what we are after. If not let me know and I can try to explain better.

3.) Can you explain the Javascript Input Styling to me? The template features pages has the following explanation : "Template scripts to allow styling of form elements, such as those in the Polls module." What is this exactly?

I think those are the main questions for now.

      Thanks in advance!

    • 1. See screen shot.

If you are familiar with Joomla an controlling menu items, creating separate pages is simple.

Your best bet is to DL the RL, install it, and see how everything is set up.

      2. Don't use Chrono forms, so I can't say. (I use RS!Form Pro for most sites)

      3. Javascript Input Styling = polls, the contact form, and other stuff are coded to match the RT template styling, instead of the very vanilla Joomla format. However, some users that use 3 party components (such as Chrono forms) find they don't display perfectly / properly.

As with all Gantry templates, you have the option to switch off the template styling in the Template Manager. (See screen shot.)

Usually switching this option off solved the problem or allows css changes t the component to get it to look just right.

      HTH

    • Jem,

Thanks for all these helpful replies.

Regarding Question #2. With RS!Form Pro could I embed a form directly into the page instead of linking via Menu item? Ideally the client wants that exact Speakers Page as you have it in the demo, but just with a form embedded into it also.

      Thanks!

    • For # 2...

RS!Form (Pro) allows you to not only crearte menu items for forms but to embed them in Articles or Modules.

Sorry to be short, but with a Pro version, you have the option to create a form from a Menu link, or embed it in an Article or Module with the proper syntax (which requires AFAIK a plug in not available in the free version).

I've not tested it, but it seems possible.

I see you are not active at this point, so I would suggest

      A) Renewing your membership so you can get a RL version of the template you want ('cause w/o that you can't test, and we really can't test the functionality of 3rd party components for you).

      B) Testing Chrono forms with the template.

      C) If Chrono Forms doesn't work, testing the free version of RS!Forms, or consider the Pro version...

I really don't know what else to tell you, if this is for a client, making money sometimes requires spending money...

I would imagine renewing your subscription here and purchasing a form component, if need be, would be something that could be billed back to the client or a worthwhile investment in your business.

    • Jem,

Thanks! I just wanted to check to see that certain things would be possible before renewing my membership. Looks like it certainly could work one way or another.
