    SOLVED Another Google Analytics Question

Posted 14 years 1 week ago
    • I've been searching and reading older post but none really answer my question. Years ago I set up my google analytics account and they gave me a piece of html code that I just put in a custom html box on my old site at the bottom of the page. It worked flawlessly and I just had to copy and paste it to every page. Now with joomla and rocket themes I'm confused. I'm using Joomla 1.6 and the Maelstrom Template. There is a box in the template settings for Google Analytics and it says to input the API. Do I just need to copy the html code from my old site and post it in that box??? If so will this track each page like my other site did? There are no clear instructions on this that I can find. I tried going to my google account but that seems to be more confusing now than it was way back then. There is old code and asyncronous code which I have no idea what the difference is and if this code is what is considered an API.

    • Alright, I've done more digging and now know that all I have to do is input my Google ID code into the slot.

    • I think it's also important to point out that the Google ID code to input in the template manager (mine was at the bottom of the features tab) will be the UA code in the format:

      UA-########-#

If I'm wrong, please correct me! And thanks for posting the solution.
