How to move Joomla installation

  • How to move Joomla installation

    • Looking for help moving Joomla installation from a subfolder to the public_html folder without breaking anything. I developed the site in a subfolder thinking I could do a simple rediredt but it actually resolves to domain.com/subfolder in the url. Not cool! It appears the only way to make a primary domain on the account resolve to the proper .com is have it in the public_html.

Are there any simple options or am I screwed?

    • Move it to your main directory and change the settings in configuration.php to match :)

    • Because you created the site in a sub-domain, you don't have any database worries, no need to export/ import the DB.
Simply move all the files and update the paths in the config.php and you are gold.

      Cheers!
