    • Is there a downloadable gantry demo with just a plain basic template?

    • Hi

Everyone in this topic seems really aware of RT and gantry templates and all this kind of things. Could you help me for the following ?

I use J2.5 and Gantry 4.1.2. I am trying to find where I could customize the default template views. For instance I want the intro image of an article to appear above its title. I know how to override in Joomla but can't sort it out in RT nor Gantry.

I could not find the helpful page on the web not even on dedicated forums. I may not look for the correct keywords...

Can any of you give a quick help ?

      Many thanks
      Louis

    • That is a good and important question.
In Joomla 2.5 you were used to to override the views like that:
      /templates/gantry/html/com_content

Now you need to do it like that in Gantry 4.1+ for joomla 2.5
      templates/gantry/html/joomla/2.5/com_content/category

Don't forget that if you want to override blog_item.php you also need to copy blog.php
Probably it's the best to copy everything from
      /components/com_content/views/category/tmpl/
      to
      /templates/gantry/html/joomla/2.5/com_content/category
      just to be save

    • I had some troubles with the overrides (blog_item.php) too and it took some time to figure it out. I had to disable the files one by one to find the problematic one, blog.php. I renamed it and my day was saved.

All my overrides were in the default path /templates/gantry/html/com_content, so what's the story with this /templates/gantry/html/joomla/2.5/com_content/? Overrides seem to work the same way no matter which path do you use.

And what's the purpose of all these files like blog.php for example in the /templates/gantry/html/com_content/category/ folder? I wouldn't like to have such files messing things up if they are useless, so are they?

    • What does that practically mean, which one is the right way to go with J2.8.5 and J3.0? What about those default overrides, can I just delete them or is it case sensitive when I might need them? I'm just trying to avoid situations where I have to waste hours and hours because of some file/style/line/structure that causes trouble.

Just like today I have had to spend too much time searching for one line (img {max-width:100%;}) from .less files without success...
