    • Hi all,

I know that this isn't the Joomla! forum but I have asked in there and to be honest I find that the people here are far nicer!

I want to work out some way of listing: Country > City > University > Course and have courses listed as night courses, full time courses or part time courses so people can search through them at their leisure. Then give people the option to list all Full Time Marketing courses for example. When people select a college they can see all courses in that college, or colleges in a city...

      something like www.nightcourses.com I guess...

Any suggestions on how I might go about this with Joomla or is this just not going to happen with Joomla?

      Thanks
      Stephen

PS: I don't really like the look of Phil Taylors new Tags component and I'm not sure how to change it.... is there another option:?

    • There are lot's of different ways to do that mate - do you want them as menus, if so, which menu system? You could make a custom module for this too.

Yes, you can do what you want.

      Cheers!

How would you recommend I do it? I had thought about creating sections for every city, called say: Ireland/Dublin and then a category within that for colleges and listing all courses in there but then that doesn't break down to full time or part time or whatever.

I could have a section table per city to show all colleges, then a table per college to show courses. I don't really want to be messing around with menus as I plan to have a few hundred colleges and universities around the UK and Ireland listed and don't really want to create a menu for each college!

      Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I haven't tried it but Deep Pockets II seems it does what you are looking for.

Downloaded it, used it, got frustrated, deleted it, thought about it, downloaded it again a few days later, got frustrated with it again and just deleted it.... Don't know why but it just seemed to be complicated for the sake of complication... Plus the search box doesn't pick up anything in it!
