    SOLVED Wordpress and joomla together

Posted 14 years 1 day ago
    • It seems I read somewhere that I cold incorporate a wordpress site into a joomla site. I am using one of the Rocket templates on joomla 1.5 but I would I would really like to use WP for the blog portion.

Is this possible or am I just smokin' crack.

      many thanks,
      Houston

    • I've also read that. Wasn't it using a wrapper of some sort?

Anyway, it would be better to use either one. Using them both at the same time is asking for trouble.

Why not install WP and J! separately and then link the J! menu item "Blog" to the WP install?

Should work in theory at least :D

    • I say go with Prim's idea and just use the same template and menu items and link between each other.

Trying to put two CMS's together is like trying to glue two cars together side by side and expecting them to go twice as fast.

    • I have NO experience with it, but there is "Wordpress for Joomla" for 1.5 and 1.6:
      www.corephp.com/joomla-products/wordpress-for-joomla.html

They even make a specific reference to how it works well with RocketTheme templates.

Wordpress is fine, but I much prefer Joomla for full-site development. However, some of my clients want to have their own blogs and walking them through how to use Joomla and/or K2 is tough.

I especially like that they claim it can be used to run multiple WP blogs from the same site, which is a feature I need.
