No. You're better off with 1.5.x anyway

I wonder the same.. First time trying 1.6, and looks very good, but without luncher it's hard to bring up site to demo level..

An important thing to note, is that at this time we do NOT plan on creating Joomla 1.6 RocketLauncher packages. Our plan is to wait until there are solid content migration tools as well as the resolution of some major Joomla 1.6 bugs.
Once Joomla has a solid migration tool, you'll see RL packages roll out, but it's anybody's guess when they'll be be ready. - Thanks,
