Hi All
Can you help? I update the SEO Settings + .htaccess file and it's shorten the url to html and thats fine but when you try to login as a user it seems to add /component/index.php?option=com_user. However, when I remove component and have /index.php?option=com_user, it displays the page correctly. Can anyone shed some light on why its doing that.

Can you try the core SEF setting this way?
Basic Core SEF:
If joomla is in the root; htdocs, or public_html...
In Global Configurations, Search Engine Friendly URLs Yes, Use Apache mod_rewrite Yes, Add suffix to URLs No.
Change htaccess.txt to .htaccess.
If it’s in a folder, you need to change the # RewriteBase / to reflect the path of your site.
Change:
# RewriteBase /
to:
RewriteBase /(the name of the folder joomla is in)
If that doesn't work, search or post here:
forum.joomla.org/viewforum.php?f=544
