SOLVED Javascript

Hi there,
Just downloaded one of the Rocket themes and I'm playing around with Joomla for the very first time so please excuse the noobish questions, I'm not sure yet what you can and can't do with Joomla.
I was trying to insert a piece of javascript into a Component to add a search thingmy to my template but every time I enter it into the edit content box as html it truncates it. I'm not sure if I need something else to run javascript on my site or if there's somethign I'm doing wrong. Any help would be very much appreciated.
Script I'm trying to input:
<script type="text/javascript">var mt_style = 3</script>
<script src=" www.wowhead.com/widgets/searchbox.js " type="text/javascript"></script>
Script coming out as :
var mt_style = 3

You will need to disable your content editor
Admin > Site > Global Config > No WYSIWYG - James Spencer / Developer & Support / Hull, UK
