Best Template For My Sites

I have several mini sites, each with related content and I am trying to decide the best template/concept for the user.
For example when you see my main page at pilotjourney.com you see at the top left a "SITE MENU" where I have like 5 Joomla! Sites. Then on the top menu of Internet Gazette I have the menu for that particular site.
Is this the best way to organize the site this large?
Is there perhaps another template that would allow me to use all my same artwork that I have had developed?
