Hi i wanna have a site similar to

, where people can go and share their templates for free. I would like for members to be able to upload their files on a form like;
Template Name
Template description (optional)
CMS (joomla or Wordpress)
Category (dropdown, restaurant, travel agency, etc..)
demo site
upload file -
Users of the site would be able to search for CMS , Category | brownse the results and download without registration.
Guess its much like joomla24

where people can go and share their templates for freeThere's a difference between 'their templates' i.e., templates that they have created 100% from scratch and decide to provide for free, and 'their templates', i.e., the ones the have actually purchased from a legitimate template provide under a specific TOS which limits use distribution, etc, or some WAREZ site...
You *could* do this with some download component and some customization, but unless I misunderstand what you are trying to accomplish, generally speaking, a bad idea.

Just following one of the links from the link you provided, there were 6 RT templates listed, 3 GPL, so no problem, but 3 were commercial offerings.

- Thanks for the advice, any sugestion on how i should handle and hopefully minimize the chances of people sharing templates they should not be sharing?

In a nutshell, don't do it... :shock:
Some DL components allow members to upload files which are published automatically or be set to hold the file in queue until the site admin approves the file to be published.
You could go that route if the uploads were fairly low (5-10 a day) and you had time to look at each one carefully and be sure each was not in violation of some club's TOS.
But what if your traffic increases and you get 100 submissions a day?
Do you have the time and resources to filter what is original, GPL, commercial, or obtained through some WAREZ site?
Also note, many templates that are offered on WAREZ sites have been modified and may contain malware or some other malicious code.
As I mentioned, the link you provided www.joomla24.com/ has some GPL stuff, but also offers some commercial versions, which is not legal... (and possibly some other templates downloaded from illegal sites that may have been compromised).
I wouldn't want to be emulating this type of site, less than five minutes browsing it and I can see they are not doing a very good job protecting the rights of others.
For sites like these, most providers will insist you remove illegal content immediately or just decide to shut you down all together for violation of their TOS, for example...
