Random Source Image Module can work for the above quest as it is used to replace a image file name with a physical image on your server within a template by using a custom module position.
Both of these modules require template edits to work. See the links for details. Since they are modules you can specify sections and links they appear on and they can also randomize those images or be set to display a single image.
