Major problem with the Rocket Launcher Install - HELP!

I'm having a major problem with the Rocket Launcher Install.....
Step 1 - I set up a new domain
Step 2 - I put that domain on my dedicated server (which i've set up with numerous Joomla installs via: Fantastico in the past)
Step 3 - I downloaded the ColorMatic RT Theme (The Rocket Launcher Package)
Step 4 - I extracted all files to a folder
Step 5 - I uploaded those files to a folder on my domain on my server (becuase I want this install on a subfolder, not the root domain)
Step 6 - I made the Configuration.php CHMOD 777
Step 7 - I went to the URL of the subfolder, as well as the URL of the subfolder/INSTALL.php and i'm getting this error:

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/path/to/joomla/install/includes/version.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/mystery/public_html/exclusive/includes/joomla.php on line 71
I went ahead and tried to CHMOD EVERYTHING to 777 - just to see if maybe something else needed to be CHMODDED - but nothing works.
Did I do something wrong or miss a step? I ususally do a Fantastico Install - so maybe i'm missing something.
Joomla.org even says after getting the files on your server, simply go to the URL where you put the files (in my case, it's the subfolder I put everything) and you should have an Install screen. (see: help.joomla.org/content/view/39/132/ )
Instead of an install screen - I get that error above.
HELP!

you need to type in yoursitename.com/installation
that should bring up the joomla install screen.
